When I feel the morning grass I let down my guard
Because love comes from the dirt in my own backyard
Everytime I think I've finished being young
I catch myself having fun
But the moment passes as the sun moves on
So I turn myself back to you
On a diamond in the rough I spent my better years
I still see her in the crowd with diamonds in her ears
And it's depressing that I can't forget the tune the organist played
la da da da da da da, la da da da da da da...
Everytime I think I've finished being young
I catch myself having fun
But the moment passes as the son moves on
So I turn myself back to you
Is our season over?
No four leaf clover
I feel it's getting colder
Now that it's late fall
But can you still remember?
April to November
You and I were members
Of the best team in baseball
So we play our games
I've got a girlfriend
You've found a new guy
But it's not the same
And so I drive
Straight up i-5
To let you know I'm still alive
A very great song, with beautiful lyrics.
This is an awesome band and awesome song i think i kinda have an idea of what the song is about but someone explain the lyrics
I just downloaded this song, and i realized i'd heard it before, but under the name of "weezer - starlight" is this a coincidence or something??? i know they're touring together, but do they share songs???
no, everyone thinks that ozma songs are weezer songs. i just had an argument with a friend of mines roommate because he insisted that 'baseball' was a weezer song. yes they did tour together, but they have their own music...
it's crazy how much weezer and ozma sound alike - gotta love them both though man!!! rock on - this is such a great song...brings back childhood memories...
such a good song, it makes me think a lot. great ozma.
Basically i think the lyrics on this song are about how he remembers an old flame of his. But somehow theres those people that you can never quite 'get over' and he is finally realizing that he still loves her and hes not over her yet. So hes yearning inside to see her again and be with her again.
This is such a sing a long song. Me and my friends were in town one night and at around 11 we all just started singing it. So hard to resist singing along.
it seems like he kinda wishes he could go back to his "summer" (childish) days when love was so simple (talking about love being the dirt in his backyard). but time moves on and simple things become so complicated, like the girl he played with when he was little. haha this sounds really dumb but it reminds me of forest gump, how as forest and jenny grow up sometimes jenny forgets he exits and forest is always trying to remind her.
its good to have a song about baseball
