The Innocent Lyrics
The start of Armageddon
And it's just another day
We all saw the news
Nothing to say
So many friends are missing
And family members gone
And we all pray to GodHelp them be strong
And now we stand together
Remembering that day
The lives we live
Will never be the same
And we don't know why
The innocent die
Will this world ever
Find a way to change?
And we don't know why
But we know it's not right
We don't know why
So many had to die
We don't know why
So many had to die
Hate has turned to others
For their religion or their skin
But hate can't solve
The problem it began
Everyone is angry
People are afraid
And no one knows
What decisions will be made
And we don't know why
The innocent die
Will this world ever
Find a way to change?
And we don't know why
But we know it's not right
We don't know why
So many had to die
We don't know why
So many had to die
We don't know why (Don't know why)
The innocent die (Don't know why)
Will this world ever
Find a way to change?
And we don't know why (Don't know why)
But we know it's not right (Don't know why)
Will any of us
Ever be the same?
Will any of this
Ever be the same?
I don't know why
The innocent die
Will any of us
Ever be the same?
Will any of this
Ever be the same?
And it's just another day
We all saw the news
Nothing to say
So many friends are missing
And family members gone
And we all pray to GodHelp them be strong

This song is really good. It kinda helps relieve the pain from 9/11. It means a lot to me and probably to a lot of American punk fans.

Wow. This is a really good song. The bands (Goldfinger, Mest, Good Charlotte) got together to write this song to reflect on the events of 9/11. I actually had the opportunity to see this song being performed live on 11/25/01 and 11/27/01 when Mest was touring with Good Charlotte. And for one of the California shows that I attended (11/27 @ the Troubadour in W Hollywood), John Feldman made a guest appearance and they performed "The Innocent". It was a really awesome experience.
They did the same exact thing in Jersey. Both GC and Mest throw amazing shows, and I was fortunate to see the both of them play a very small venue. And they give the song the treatment it deserved... With a whole "God bless America" speech and all.
this song it`s the best, mest, good charlette,, goldfinger, kick ass.
I love this song. This makes me think about 9/11 and "why did so many have to die?" USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i lve this song so much. it rocks
This song is about 9/11 obiously. When I went to look at the lyrics after I downloaded the track it really put things into perspective. It just makes you think about the day and how so many innocent people died for no reason. It just makes you think why.
It makes you want to just get out there yourself and fucking murder Bin Laden. I live in england and I was at school when it happened. I was ill and my nanna came and picked me up, I was only about eight or nine. She told me that a plane had crashed into one of the twin towers, and by the time we got back home the other one was down too. It just makes you want to cry and yell "I WANT TO FUCKING KILL ASAMA BIN LADEN THE LITTLE FUCKING RETARD" at the same time, doesn't it?
