Everyone's afraid of their own lives
If you could be anything you want
I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?

No one really knows the ones they love
If you knew everything they thought
I bet that you would wish that they'd just shut up

Well, you were the dull sound of sharp math
When you were alive
No one's going to play the harp when you die
And if I had a nickel for every damn dime
I'd have half the time, do you mind?

Everyone's afraid of their own lives
If you could be anything you want
I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?
Am I right, am I right, am I right?
Am I right, am I right, am I right?

And it's our lives
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
We're alive for the first time
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
We're alive for the last time
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
To live before you die

It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
That our lives are such a short time
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
When it takes such a long time
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember

My mom's God is a woman and my mom she is a witch
I like this
My hell comes from inside, comes from inside myself
Why fight this?

Everyone's afraid of their own lives
If you could be anything you want
I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?

Everyone's afraid of their own lives

    self explanatory

If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?

the person this statement is directed towards obviously takes a negative outlook quite often.

No one really knows the ones they love If you knew everything they thought I bet that you'd wish that they'd just shut up

this is a sort of dark way of saying that even people we love are probably secretly obnoxious (it's not necessarily true)

Well, you were the dull sound of sharp math When you were alive

possibly saying the person was intelligent?

No ones gonna play the harp when you die

no one will care when you die.

And if I had a nickel for every damn dime I’d have half the time, do you mind?

meant to be nonsensical. a play on the usual "if i had a nickel for every time i..."

Everyone's afraid of their own lives If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?

    described above

Am I right? And it’s our lives It's hard to remember, it’s hard to remember We're alive for the first time

when you're born you don't realize how significant the experience is

It's hard to remember we're alive for the last time

you don't know exactly when you're gonna die, so you can't ever identify your last moment alive.

It's hard to remember, it’s hard to remember To live before you die

here 'live' takes the more figurative meaning, like take risks and enjoy yourself live life to the fullest blah blah

It's hard to remember, it’s hard to remember That our lives are such a short time

we don't always recognize that we should use our time on earth wisely because it won't last forever

It's hard to remember, it’s hard to remember When it takes such a long time

sometimes, even though our lives are not very long, we feel like they are dragging on, especially during moments of sadness or depression

It's hard to remember, it’s hard to remember…

    self explanatory

My mom’s God is a woman and my mom she is a witch I like this

could be a reference to wicca, which is most often the worship of a female deity. the slang for a practicioner of wicca is "witch".

My hell comes from inside, comes from inside myself

creates his own problems; has self inflicted pain

    Why fight this?

go with the flow, not everything needs to be a war.

Everyone's afraid of their own lives If you could be anything you want I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?

    again.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
