I think this song is about drugs and the dealer [You can count on me (dealer), I will be there for you]. The stars are infact the drugs, and when you're feeling blue you should reach for the pill bottle. Then you'll be able to do what ever you want - climb mountains, follow rainbows (hallucinations???).
This was the last song played at our prom when we finished school and were leaving. To me it said that even though most people were leaving, that no matter what, if you needed them they'd be there. And also to follow your dreams, whatever it takes 'reach' for them, and one day you'll get there. This song will always remind me of my friends from school :)
