Of its constant hunger for whatever it is it wants
The way it stops ...
Wild, cause you left me here
I go wild cause your promises are broken
Wild because there isn't anybody else around
Wild when the waves start to break
And God knows they're breaking in me now
For me to cry out in my own defense
And wild because I would do anything
To tear you off your precious fence
First I'm high then I'm so low
Wild cause you left me here
I go wild cause your promises are broken
Wild when I know you're near
I go wild
I go wild
Moving like a hunter through my back door
Leaving the perfume of all you adore
To die nameless on my floor
I guess you really think that you get me there
Let's be honest, perhaps this little ride
Is too much for even you to bear
You're not the only one who can smell fear
Wild cause you left me here
I go wild cause your promises are broken
Wild
Don't you get it dear?
You're not the only one who runs on instincts
No I've got instincts of my own
Plan your attack, yeah I am still waiting
Did you want something?
You wrote the rules to try to contain me
You broke 'em, now you have untamed me
And I'm wild
I go wild
What is it you adore?
Won't you tell me?
What would you cry for?
Swallow your pride for?
What would you, aha
Go wild for?
Speak up my darling I have been waiting
Wild cause you left me here
I go wild cause your promises are broken
Wild
Don't you get it dear?
No I've got instincts of my own
Plan your attack yeah I am still waiting
Did you want something?
You wrote the rules to try and contain me
You broke 'em
Now you have untamed me

To me it describes a relationship where the guy never commits to how he feels about her. He's always "on the fence" and drops little hints which lead her into questioning things, and he always denies it and acts offended at her assumptions, making her "cry out in her own defense" even though she's right about everything. He basically sets her up to fall every time. Getting her hopes high enough to make the fall more fun to watch. Constant state of limbo. It comes to a point where he finally commits, but then pulls the rug out from under her, so to speak, causing her to break, because he finally got her to trust him completely... so she didn't even see the betrayal coming.
"Like a hunter through my front door Leaving the perfume of all you adore To die nameless on my floor,"
That's the best line.
I love the way, during the extended remixing of all the vocals, there's a bit that sounds like:
"What is it you come for Come for Come for Come back here,"
It sounds so, well, wild and animal like, like she's been pushed so far beyond the breaking point that she's going to tear him to pieces.

Communication is not just words; communication is architecture. nicely put.

oh geez, delial... i think you got this one spot-on. that's exactly how i see it.

la da da da da...
