The song can't be about his daughter? How could not be in love with their own child? And who would take them drinking and getting sloshed when they're a newborn?
This is such a great song. I think I remember reading that it's about the lead singer's daughter, and the date 1/15 is her birthday (as well as mine, although I wasn't born in '96!). The "Angie" in the song is his ex-girlfriend and her mom. It was written after the band signed and came to California and is about the hard times they had missing the things they left behind.
I heard that this song is about Kris moving away to California to start the band and he had to leave his first wife behind.

i like the whole song. the music is really good, and the lyrics are super too. yay for emo.
I heard this song about two years ago. Man Overboard by Blink 182 had just come out and I was looking for it on Napster. I downloaded one and it turned out ot be this song. It wasn't until this morning I figured out it was the ataris. This is cool because years ago I was searching for who this was.
