Frank's 2000" TV Lyrics
Risin' above the city, blocking out the noonday sun
It dwarfs the mighty redwoods and it towers over everyone
I still remember when that delivery truck came down our block
What a lucky guy, I hear he got the last one in stock
And the neighbors are just green
They say, "That's the biggest screen we've ever seen!"
It's Frank's 2000" TV (Frank's 2000" TV)
Everybody come and see (Frank's 2000" TV)
Frank's 2000" TV (Frank's 2000" TV)
There's Frank's remote control, you can look, but don't touch it, please
'Cause Frank's the one in charge and he decides what everybody sees
The picture's crystal clear and everything is magnified
Robert DeNiro's mole has gotta be ten feet wide
Everybody in the town
Can hear those 90,000 watts of Dolby sound
And I'm mighty proud to say
Now I can watch "The Simpsons" from 30 blocks away
On Frank's 2000" TV (Frank's 2000" TV)
Everybody come and see (Frank's 2000" TV)

One of my favorite Weird Al songs...it's got a good vibe and rythym to it...and who wouldn't want a 2000" tv?
This is a song about the common American status symbol: a big freaking TV screen.
"There's Frank's remote control, you can look, but don't touch it, please 'Cause Frank's the one in charge and he decides what everybody sees"
This quote reminds me of the wizard from The Wizard of Oz. The wizard compensated his dissapointment with his physical aesthetic (or lack of,) by using a large screen. Perhaps Frank isn't confident in is social skills so he uses his TV as a "society magnet," so instead of having to find friends and entertain them, the friends, although shallow, come to him, while he hides behind his TV (like the wizard) in fear that his newfound friends will be dissapointed with his physical aethetic.
Reminds me of Tv's Frank from MST3K. That would be his dream.
i wish i had a ten foot wide remote
i wish i had a ten foot wide remote
REM style parody
For those who were curious, at the time the song was written, it would have been 135’ by 100’. Nowadays, it would be roughly 145’ by 83’.
