Childhood's End Lyrics
This song is one of the most well-spoken expressions of existential crisis and that "what am I doing with my life" feeling. Great song...
The song is great, and the whole album OBC is underrated. It's all great
I love Roger Waters and his lyrical ability as well, but guess what folks Gilmour wrote this one. In fact I heard Roger edited some of it out as well but you know all that is here-say anyway. or however the hell you spell that word. It actually reminds me of what he is doing now, especially in the bridge where he has a written lead part (not exactly wirtten but pre-composed at least in his head or just what he felt should be there) and he tends to do that now adays, ie. listen to "blue" on on an island, he does a beautiful lead over the chord changes in the birdge. (personally one of my favorite rock bridges ever.... COlored in Bluuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeee) also cant you tell the lyrics are a little less rhythmically inclined than what waters could dish out, but thats another little personal gilmour that comes out that introduces you to his musical tap. YEE SON! LOVE YOU RICK! HELL OF A RIDE HUH! REST WELL! GREATLY MISSED!
Just correcting a few mistakes...
"You shout in your sleep perhaps the price is just too steep Is your conscience at rest if once put to the test You awake with a start to just the beating of your heart Just one man beneath the sky just two ears, just two eyes
You set sail across the sea long past thoughts and memories Childhood's end: Your fantasies merge with harsh realities"
"Childhoods end your fantasies merge with harsh realities" This is my favorite Floyd song. it is so underrated. They didnt even put any song from this album on the compelation.
"Childhoods end your fantasies merge with harsh realities" Straight up this is the message the whole song stands behind. If anyone knows where I can get the REAL tabs for this song Im dying to know. Not the single guitar tabs that slightly sound like it.
Anybody who visits this song on this site is a true Floyd fan. Obscurred by Clouds is as fantastic as Meddle, Wish You Were Here and Animals, although I could listen to Careful with that Axe Eugene (Come in Number 51, your time is up) forever also.
I hear ya ...
This song is simply fantastic; too bad so few other than real PF fans know about it. If I had a radio station, this would be on the A list.
I loved this song before, but I love it even more now that I know what it is about. I feel this song and "Time" go very well together.
Good question there, dasquien. So has anyone seen La Vallee?
