"What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."

has anyone else noticed that the word "lunatic" is used consistently in this song, and the title of the album is "Dark Side of the Moon"? the root word of lunatic is "luna", which means moon. in the song, he's saying that the lunatics are everywhere and everyone. so the album title is pretty much "Dark Side of People." that's assuming you've listened to the other songs that have a lot of meaning. for example, "Money" is all about how greedy and stupid people are. thats a dark side of a person. the last line of the album is "the sun is eclipsed by the moon". the sun represents all good in life, and that line is pretty much saying all good in life is unseen because the bad people in the world are covering it up. then, the voice at the end says "there is no dark side of the moon, matter of fact, it's all dark." in other words, everyone is bad.
that was hard to fit all that explanation in that small paragraph, so i hope you can follow me. i listened to this album for the first time a few weeks ago, and i was confused what it was about until "Money" and "Brain Damage." the second i heard the word "lunatic", i was like MOON!
also, in one of the earlier songs when theyre talking about rabbits digging holes and getting away from the sun.... the dark side of the moon is always facing away from the sun. they are saying people are like rabbits that are just trying to get away from the good in life.
it's about people, when wanting to be sadder.
