Thank You For Not Moshing Lyrics

When I'm in the pit
I'm going to fuck up shit
When I'm in the pit
Don't you know I'm going to fuck up shit
Reel big fish straight down to you whoa
Got my wife beater on
Doc martins on my feet yeah
I run around in a little circle
I'm wondering who to beat
And you know it's really cool
'Cause I played football in high school
Gonna push some little girls tonight
Look out fag

When I'm in the pit
I'm going to fuck up shit
When I'm in the pit
Don't you know, I'm going to fuck up shit
Reel big fish straight down to you whoa

And you want to be just like me
Wish I could be myself
And you want to be just like me cause I
Can't think of no one else
And you know it's really great
To punch someone in the face
Gonna push some little girls now
Look out fag

When I'm in the pit
I'm going to fuck up shit
When I'm in the pit
Don't you know, I'm going to fuck up shit
Reel big fish straight down to you whoa

Got my wife-beater on
Doc martins on my feet yeah
Running around in a little circle
I'm wondering who to beat
And you know it's really cool
'Cause I played football in high school
Gonna push some little girls tonight
Look out fag

When I'm in the pit
I'm going to fuck up shit
When I'm in the pit
Don't you know, I'm going to fuck up shit
Reel big fish straight down to you whoa

Hey, dance hall crashers screen name! Neat! Although, I humbly disagree about the second verse. I think it's about people being self-absorbed and not realizing that the reckless punches they throw in mosh pits really do end up hurting people. I love Aaron for drawing attention to this.

Yeah, this song is definitely not about posers, or if it is, that's not the main idea of the song. This song is actually about how RBF hates people moshing at their shows. They'd rather people just enjoy the music and not beat up people in the pit. Pits seem kinda stoopid to me, I mean, let's run in circles and hit each other, YEAH! WOO HOO!

The second verse is about people who go to shows just to slamdance and mosh, forgetting the real show up on stage. People who think this is the best way to get attention and really be someone; by thrashing around in a crowded area like a 6 year old. In other words, he's saying moshers have no grasp on reality.

I believe this is describing people who go into pits just to be complete dicks. Notice how the person they are describing was a football jock in highschool, not the type of person who would normally be at a RBF show.

In most pits there is a sense of comradery (I know I spelled that wrong but I'm tired so my apologees) between all participants. Sure we are knocking the hell out of each other but when somebody falls down, people swarm to help him/her back up. So moshing isn't all bad, just the people who act like complete douchebags which this song is talking aobut.

For all the people talking shit about moshing, you've got it totally wrong. Moshing isn't about beating people up and hurting others, if you're moshing right no one gets hurt. This song is a slam on all the people who think you're actually supposed to be throwing punches and "fucking up shit" in the pit, which couldn't be farther from the truth. This song is calling out those few assholes who give moshing a bad name. Real moshing is just another (albeit a rather intense) form of dancing

Also its "Look out fag, there's gonna be a fight" not "look out now" in both versions (in the pit/ thank you for not moshing)

The second verse, i feel, is about wannabes. 'you wanna be just like me' is describing them, then aaron is saying he want to be individual.
