this is my song!!!! when i saw reel big fish some boy was skanking with me and the bits when it goes "but i love you....whatever that means" he was motioning to me. plus i just love the song. its about loving someone in a band and wanting to tell them but not. also it can be applied on a personal level for when you really liek some one and they seem unattainable and so ur half trying to impress them half trying to play it cool. and usually you just come accross as desperate!!!!!!
What's most amazing about this is that, at least at this stage in their maturity, you never hear this kind of semi-seriousness from Reel Big Fish, and nothing near this kind of melancholy devotion. I love it when he says things like "I won't get what I want, won't get anything, but I love you -whatever that means." and "you know I'm singing all my songs for you, but it's all right if you don't understand."

He puts the pussy on a pedastal. He's idolizing this girl without ever meeting her, like he always does. He doesn't want to pursue it, because it never works out. Its pretty self-defeating.
I heard once upon a time back in the 90's that Aaron wrote this song when he broke up with a girl who became more famous than him. Of course that was a long time ago.
