Blast Off to Nowhere (feat. Rob Zombie) Lyrics

blast off, blast off to nowhere
blast off ... this time to go
blast off, blast off to nowhere
blast off ... are you really what you think so

please just kill me now
or get me off this rock
cause i can't stand to see your faces
and i can't stand to hear you talk

blast off, blast off to nowhere
blast off ... this time to go
blast off, blast off to nowhere
blast off ... are you really what you think so

prepared for anything
case this time is for real
burn the souls of those left behind
and i don't care how you feel
cause it's time...
to blast OFF

This is about people on a planet that's going to blow up. Without knowing where to go, they launch in a ship hoping to find somewhere to go.

or it could mean that the person is going fucking insane cause of the people around him hence "cause i can't stand to see your faces and i can't stand to hear you talk"

the person doesnt want to be around people ANYMORE. in the beginning when its talking about when destruction began it could be the person self destructing mentally because of all the assholes around....but thats my point of view

Being powerman, and Especially being powerman i ntheir spaceman phase I'm almost certain it's the first, but when I consider it further, maybe it's a bit of both, since he does make it clear he wants away from these people. Really though, sometimes hard to get a meaning out of a song written by Spider, since words are sometimes just in there to fit the rhythm and sound cool :P

FYI: Rob Zombie does the screaming in this song. Rob Zombie is Spider's older brother. (I like to add useless information)

I'm going with the second opinion. During the TTSR phase, Powerman 5000 had a lot of metaphors to their lyrics and used sci-fi imagery.

"please just kill me now or get me off this rock cause i can't stand to see your faces and i can't stand to hear you talk"

I can relate to that. He wants to get away from everyone and doesn't quite care how.
