Damn...I'm the first one to comment on this one, too. Well, I think it's pretty obvious the song's about a guy who can be kind of an asshole to the people around him and doesn't realize he's winding up with fewer and fewer friends as a result of it. He needs to swallow his pride and apologize to everyone, but it may be too late.

yeah, i get like that. too much pride. i can be a dick. and somethimes i feel like the only person who feels the same way about something. im walking alone in other words. i love this song. i listen to it whenever i've fallen out with my dad.

This song used to make me feel like I was the character in the song, I'm a horrible person, I should keep my mouth shut, etc. These are exactly the things I dont need to here since I am very introverted. Im over it now, but it didnt do me much good. I actually figured out how to play this song on guitar today. Its very easy.
I can relate to this. I care to much about if i'm wrong or right, you know, start yelling and stuff like that. The horrible thing for me is that 70% I am wrong.

HEY! i play the harmonica...go on laugh it up people.....and i love playing this song the guitar part is easy too, anyway i love this song, probably one of my favourites off nimrod, although it doesn't seem the most popular. The menaing has basically been said, and again some amazing lyrics!
