I think this song has a lot of meaning behind it...probably different meanings, as well. To me, it is a song about regret and having not done something that was right, or not expressing yourself when you had the chance; it's about having the ability to make a change, but never doing it, and wishing you could. That's what I see anyway...
To me this song is about not striving to be the best that you can.
Was not too big of a fan of First Impressions. Much different sound, and with it being the first album, it was not put together as well due to lack of support. The outer meaning seems to talk about learning from mistakes, and use mistakes to help accomplish your dreams. Though as with all Thrice songs, it probably has some deeper meaning, that I have completely missed.
