this song is a great way of showing that it doesnt have to be a balad to be powerful. Suicide note part 1 was a great and meaningful song, but part 2 just takes it all into a rage of energy and insanity with enough adrenalin to bash heads for days

Sounds black metalish to me. Either that or Anal Cunt done really well. Of course Anal Cunt and done well is an oxymoron.
this is fairly obvious what the song is about.. once your mind is truly made up about something, there's no point in wasting your energy. in this song he happens to be talking about death.. which is something many never take seriously, and definitely don't follow through with. fuckin kick ass song though! makes me wanna smash my head up against a wall repeatedly along with vinny's bass drums
this is easily the best pantera song ever...i actually do enjoy hearing songs about suicide, because then you can try to comprehend whats in the mind of someone who is willing to take their life themself...i just find that fucking interesting, and i hate blink 182 with a passion, but adams song provides it in a much weaker sense of this song...but i love this song, its great energy, i would love to go to a pantera show and tear shit up to this song.
Damn suicide Note Part 1 and 2 sure are different. Part 1 is all slow and acoustic and Phil sounds like the vocalist for Creed and Part 2 is the heaviest Pantera song I ever heard with Phill singing(screaming) like hes in a black metal band. Neat. Representing the depression and anger of someone about to kill theirtself.
Nah I wouldn't say he's screaming like a black metal band. Black metal shrieks aren't like that (Emperor, Mayhem, 1349). I'd say those screams are Phil screams! He has one of the most unique styles of screaming ever. The lyrics in this song aren't all that powerful, but his vocal performance in the song is outstanding
Anal Cunt is grindcore metal as far as I know, not black metal... Anyway, I love to listen to this song right after Part I, they really sound great together, like in the album. It really represents what's going on in a suicidal person's head, I can tell from expereince; especially in the part "Why would you help anyone who doesn't want it, doesn't need it, doesn't want your shit advice, when a mind's made up to go ahead and die? What's done is done and gone, so why cry?", when people are telling you not to do it and how you got a life ahead of you...
Those harsh screams are actually done by Anal cunt vocalist(I use that term loosely) Seth Putham, not Phil.
