I Typed For Miles Lyrics

I live in a hotel / must keep writing / if I'm to be better than everyone else / like figure skating / like asphyxiating / on your own seeping fumes / you're just waiting / living in a hotel / but I'm not traveling / between two points, in mid air, / I'm levitating / above the earth / beneath the sky / eyes like static / in my three feet / from bed to wall / there sleeps a genius / leave me here to my devices / the call could come at any time / they're playing love songs on the radio tonight / I can't relate to that right now / note so self : no one cares. your voice is average / in worried piles I typed for miles and noone noticed / I will begin / I will put right / this morning terror / I have been kissed / between the ears / by human error / leave me here to my devices / I need a word to change my life / I've tied my ankles to the table legs with wire / he can't write so much as type / leave me here to my devices / I can't think with all this noise / they're playing love songs on your radio tonight / I don't get those songs on mine / you keep fucking up my life

wow I really like this song. I relate to it. Sometimes I just sit there and write. Even though it's never good enough. In this song He's typing because he's having some kind of girl troubles. He's bitter he's not in love. I like this song, blake is my hero.

Actually I think this is a song about writer's block. He holed himself up in a hotel room to write some songs and he just can't get anything on the paper. He begins to doubt his choice of career (note to self: no one cares, your voice is average). By the end he's completely exasperated.

i love the comparison of figure skaing and asphyxiating.

I agree with the locking-himself-in-a-room-and-trying-to-write theory, but I think that when he says "note to self: no one cares, your voice is average" he's comming to the realization that no one really cares about his personal problems because everyone feels the same things. We all suffer lonliness and other common feelings, so his experiences are nothing unique.

I love this song,I love all of blake's songs they are all full emotion. His songs are very depressing alot of the time though.I think in this song there are maybe a couple meanings but the frustration he is having is one of the most obvious ("you keep **** my life" heh). Its a familiar feeling for me to believe that you are alone , who would care, and what to do with your life. A wave of hoplessness will comsumes you and you get the idea that theres no other way out....

Psh. Yeah, this song doesn't sound at all like HEART SHAPED BOX by NIRVANA. Heh, but it's an awesome song, none the less. Even if he did steal kurts riff.

@DeadKennedy67 Blake’s band Jawbreaker used to open up for nirvana at their shows they’re really similar bands

ggaaarrrr... i hoped someone else saw that. i thought i was listening to a hyped-up version of heart shaped box when i heard it for the first time - a whole five minutes ago... it's a good song, yes... but... bah. oh well. i am getting over it.

This is quite possibly the best song i have ever heard. The lyrics are amazing and the song arangement is perfect. I love how it slows down and gets really beautiful right before the climax of the song, wow

this is such a good song. and nirvana has nothing on this. wow, an A chord and an F chord. obvioulsy its a gyp. i think this song is about himself..about trying to get all the shit out of himself in the form of lyrics and then beginning to doubt his own worth. good shit.
