do you know what would be good right here? some yellow
a touch of humility, an original sin or two
half the math double the myth they told you to
no aftertaste no residue chop chop you're through
our good order taker has what it takes to make it
it's up to you
unflinching trigger finger coffee fetcher to the letter
see it through
riddles don't stupify because at the moment
we want to not know you to better know you
don't be so german
pick it up prick up the usual amount
no fingerprints no proper names our finest scotch to wash it down
good french collaborator, we heard you made great waiters
make us proud
no job to small or messy your lack of feeling pleasing
we'll keep you around
daughters of the revolution you're freezing in your furs
well-heeled atrocity show the finishing school is done
the appropriate responses are wrong for once in you life, man, just think
unemployed war heroes hating the peace time march
that's right these things come back to you

There a few references to the Viechy French collaberators during World War II, " Good French Collaberator", "Don't be so German". Yellow is the color of cowardice and that is what those French were tragically notorious for. I think he is giving light to the mind set of the collaberators just giving up and making the best of it was so much easier than the Russinans "daughters of the revolution freezing in your furs" fighting the bitter fight on the eastern front. But in the end once the allies liberated France atrocities were actually carried out against the former collaberators by the French who resisted. Just my take on the song.

You morons! This song is about racism and trivialising "others" as a bunch of symbols. Yellow is asians and would be a nice, inoffensive touch here. They're telling Germans to not be so German. The French (all of them) make great waiters we hear. No fingerprints, no proper names for any of them, just what can they do for us. This is the attitude of the Daughters of the Revolution (snobs). The war heroes hate peace time because what they did to become heroes (killing asians and germans) is not a bragable thing anymore.

you guys are all fools. this song is clearly about ecstasy. the yellow thing in the beggining: ecstasy tabs that are yellow have coke in them and get you all pepped up and happy. "no aftertaste, no residue" aftertaste=the drip from coke, residue=resin from weed in your lungs and in the bowl. "our good order taker has what it takes to make it " is about the person who whips up a batch of the shit. this whole song is just about the craziness and happiness of the world and how drugs reveal this madness to you. "do you know what would be good right here? some yellow" is a way of portraying the inner monologue of "shit, i want to get some real good ecstasy, i'm kinda in a shitty mood." assholes.

I don't understand this song at all. What would be good right here; some yellow? What does that mean!? If anyone knows, I'd love to hear an explanation. Or, maybe it's about nothing. Lennon did a lot of songs like that (remember I Am the Walrus?).

no, ive never heard of i am the walrus. lennon was a communist leader in russia, my friend. get your facts straight :P yellow perhaps symbolizes humility.. theres a lot of food/restaurant imagery here. i dunno though. its probably about more than one thing. great song tho.

thanks emokid for always posting correct lyrics! plosion, In my opinion I think he's talking about a painting when he says 'do you know what would be good right here? some yellow' and the yellow symbolizes something. blakes into painting, but who knows.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
