The Ballad of Resurrection Joe and Rosa Whore Lyrics
Insane blues at the Green Man Inn
Cut the lights and pray that you're dead
Opium dreams through the seven dials
And feel the pillow over your head
Rachel hides from Ned the Crow
Keen eye on the peelers
Experiment from '53
And no scratch for the dealers
She wants some more
Sweet Rosa Whore
She wants some more
Sweet Rosa Whore
I say Hell is love
You say I must suffer
She's a motherfucker
Resurrect me
Sleep well in your killing bed
Give a jig and show some life
Favor for a favor
Don't separate the pain from the knife
All the doctors sing
You gotta suffer for the cure
And as the world fades away
You wonder where you were
Sweet Rosa Whore
She wants some more
Sweet Rosa Whore
I say Hell is love
You say I must suffer
She's a motherfucker
Resurrect me
Cut the lights and pray that you're dead
Opium dreams through the seven dials
And feel the pillow over your head
Rachel hides from Ned the Crow
Keen eye on the peelers
Experiment from '53
And no scratch for the dealers
Sweet Rosa Whore
She wants some more
Sweet Rosa Whore
You say I must suffer
She's a motherfucker
Resurrect me
Give a jig and show some life
Favor for a favor
Don't separate the pain from the knife
All the doctors sing
You gotta suffer for the cure
And as the world fades away
You wonder where you were
She wants some more
Sweet Rosa Whore
You say I must suffer
She's a motherfucker
Resurrect me

This song is about a 1958 English period drama/horror film "Corridors Of Blood", about the discovery of anaesthesia with Boris Karloff as Dr. Bolton and Christopher Lee as an unscrupulous cutthroat and grave robber by the name of "Resurrection" Joe. There's a young whore called Rosa in it, who Joe rapes or tries to rape, and an innkeeper's wife called Rachel. "You can't separate the pain from the knife" is a quote from the movie, while "The Doctor Of Seven Dials" was the working title.

Daaaaamn.... I must say this song is the hardest to comprehend whilst listening to the song... I had to look in the booklet for the lyrics and i was thourouly suprised. >
i love this song, definitely my fav rob zombie song.
Great song. My theory is that it's about a guy named Joe who was royally shafted by his girl (Rosa), murdered, and his body given to this crazy doctor to experiment on. Joe ends up getting resurrected and goes after his former girl, dragging in poor Rachel, a prostitute friend of Rosa's who also just happens to look like her. Yah...that's my take on it.
Oooo, good eye, murasaki vchan21. Rob is a well-known fan of the Crow movies which have a similar theme of wrongful death and vengence from beyond the grave.
The mix on American Made Music To Strip By is the best version. No clue what the hell it means, and I'm not even going to try.
i get the feeling that rob really isnt a deeper meaning kind of guy. I think he is more of a story teller and a very imaginative guy
