I'm not sure of anyone, anyone.
but I've got plans.
I'm not asking for everything, but sure, I could use a hand.
Get a little anxious sometimes
you'll be gone and I'll be left behind
get a little nervous sometimes
it'll be my queue and I'll forget my lines
get a little lost look, as I'm staring from the corner of my eye.
Never really mastered disinterest.
I can't see how the way that you leave me only makes us close
I must be out of touch.
I won't ask you to give up on the things that seem to keep you gone
but I could be gone too.
feel a little sorry sometimes, you're not here when I am writing
feels a little awkward sometimes, you won't talk but we're not fighting
you hold on to your secrets, and I'm not privy to whats on your mind
but I cannot help but feel tired, so tired, so tired

it's come to my attention lately that i love this song. i adore the words and the harmony in it...i can't say it's beautiful, but it's touching. passionate. i actually wrote something like "i'm not asking for everything, but sure, i could use a hand" once, before i heard this song...so i very much relate to what he's written. knowing people...but not really knowing if you can -trust- them...yet still caring for them very much...is something i can understand quite well.

yeah, "never really mastered disinterest" is really good too. damn good lyrics.

This song live is just beautiful. Fewer people know the words to this because it's not that popular of a song so hardly anyone sings with Chris... and it's just so serene... and ahhh... I think it's probably the least emotional song by Dashboard, it's like a break from the intensity.

I wouldn't say that it's the least emotional song... I think that Hands Down is the most superficial and therefore least emotional... this one is about the longing to be with someone who doesn't seem to care. At least that's my read on it.

I think this song is so great not only because of the awesome lyircs, but also because of how it has such a unique sound, the harmonies and inflections are unusual and really cool. What exactly does he mean by "never really mastered disinterest" ?

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
