Satellite Lyrics
and play the game of charm and strange
and satellite
and when we've all had our fun
deflate the stars
and put away the sun
and so we can call it a day
so let's remove any question of cure
cause even though you've made it pretty obscure
baby, it's clear, from here--
you're losing your atmosphere
from here, you're losing it
cause baby can't lift up a hand to swear to you
and what's the use of defense?
the hangers-on are too far gone for evidence
and that one was lost from the first
so let's remove any question of cure
cause even though you've made it pretty obscure
baby, it's clear, from here--
you're losing your atmosphere
from here, you're losing it
whatever makes the best resume
whatever you can throw in
wash, rinse and spin til it's
spun away--okay
but I won't be sticking around
so let's remove any question of cure
cause even though you've made it pretty obscure
baby, it's clear, from here--
you're losing your atmosphere
from here, you're losing it

does anyone have any idea what this song is about? i'm all confused thinkin it's about abortion or something...

The song is about someone who got dumped finally giving up on a relation's chance of ever coming back and thier chance to ever prove to that person (and herself) that what she did was for good.
The first verse is summarizing their relationship and the third is her telling him that she's not going to be pushed aside anymore, and that he can do f' himself in a way. Because he can't last, he's losing his atmosphere, or that high of sucess or morality that he left her for. No matter how he twists the story of what happened. "spun away"
"Cause I'll never prove that my motives were pure so let's remove any question of cure"
rephrase:
I've accepted that I never convince you that I loved you, Let's just make this final: It's over.

Interestingly, there are a lot of physics terms here. "Charm" and "strange" are names for characteristics of quarks (subatomic particles) The whole thing about deflating the stars & putting away the sun... it sounds to me like a breakup with a physicist.
I'm not sure I really believe that. But what else could "play the game of charm and strange and satellite" mean?
