I think this song is about someone who is extremely arrogant and brags to everyone. They are always proud of their work, to a very extreme degree.. "Snapping the sleepers into motion" = maybe they want to show people how great they are SO badly that they wake people up from sleep? I know my system would change and I'd give up... ;-D

I agree about the arrogance but i don't know about that waking people up shiz, emmelstone no one needs you, just go die. :)

No, I think this song it's about how people call you a fake and a hypocrite if you try to change your clothes, your hair and stuff like that. And that's because they are jealous and selfish. I think it'sd pretty clear.

This song kind of makes me think of an attention whore in addition to an arrogant, selfish person..Pretty much what Dead said.

The song reminds me of how everyone used to run to the fence on the playground when a firetruck or police car went by....

I thought Emmelstone's second comment was pretty good... I laughed at it.

Anyway,

I always thought the sirens to which Mr. Gordon refers were the beautiful womantypes who lure sailers to their death; it would be a good metaphor. Although the sirens could very well mean that someone is willingly following things like police/ambulance/tornado/fire sirens, and of course finding trouble every time.

This is about pretentious barbie dolls such as Paris Hilton who think they reinvent the wheel everytime they start a new fashion trend...they think their shit doesn't stink and that we should all bow down to them cause they're so original, when really all those barbie doll, models and screen sirens are all the same..blonde, bimbos with plastic parts who have money but zero in terms of intelligence..another great example is that anorexic Nichole Ricci... She's always doing stuff to grab our attention..for example starvin herself, getting a DUI, drugs and such.

Oh and I can't not mention Lindsay Lohan....she complains why the media is always invading her life and paying so much attention to her, when she does all this crap to draw attention to her, liife sleeping with every women chaser in hollywood including all of Paris' exes. I mean they always do things to signal sirens, drawing attention to themselves and then complain that the media won't leave them alone...they are hypocrites - hence this line (But you prompted the war You're still a hypocrite)

they prompt the swarm of the media, then they are stuck in the media war...if they didn't keep feeding the media so much maybe they'd leave them alone more.
