Days Of The Week Lyrics
I love how the melody for this song is so happy and sweet but the lyrics are dark as hell, even though they have this really jumpy and happy ring to them sonically. It almost makes the song even more fucked up. I think this song is about being depressed, with a shitty girl, or on heroin and watching the days go by, wasted. It's very dark. The sarcastic happiness flowing through the song makes it one of their darkest songs.
this is my favorite stone temple pilots song.... think im crazy?
this song takes you through a week of dating a girl thats bi polar... shit must be crazy!
This song it's easy to listen, but not so easy to come up with such a good melody. You can play anyone's songs, but the tough job is to create something new. For me this is the definition of ART: something that looks like it's so easy to do but it's not.
This song and Hello It's Late are two of my favorites by STP. Great songs about real life. No fluff, just raw emotion. These four guys are one of the best bands in decades. The DeLeo brothers are fantastic songwriters, and Kretz is/was the perfect drummer for their band. Last but not least, no one can or will ever come even close to filing Scott's shoes. Rest in peace, brother.
People FUNNY.
You know what, I like it... The reason you people dont like it is because you hate change... well they arent a math equation... the solution and output wont always be the same.. by hating this song you are asking them to "manufacture" the music to please the fans. And that, spliphstar, is what would make them like nsync.
i never said that i didn't like this song.. in fact, i do. i had this song programmed into my alarm clock so that it woke me up every morning for a very long time. the band changing is fine with me. in fact, i'm glad they're changing, it means that they are growing and maturing as people, going through new experiences. good for them. who are we to criticize their lives? they're offering themselves to us for our entertainment, and we gripe about it? uh-uh, not cool
I wish people could except bands changing a little more openly. But has anyone noticed that bands usually change from harder music to softer? Just my view...probably wrong, buti figured i would mention that. As far as the song goes, its a good song, not my fav, but by no means bad.
@scorcho you made a really good point here, I never thought that way, "from heavy to soft". But if you think about it, is freakin difficult to compose music that sounds catchy and that have a sound that doesn't remember any other song that existed before. I like this song but it has something strange, maybe it's the tempo. If the song was a bit slower it would be more badass. Cheers my STP friend

Wy arent bands allowed to change? Nearly everyone complains about a band changing. If everyone was the same they were 10 years ago, life would be boring. I admit, this isn't my personal favorite STP song, but it still is good. And I personally like the Tiny Music album, it's one of my favorites.
