This is the moment in The Fragile where he breaks through his depression, sees how fucked-up he's become, and refuses to just give in to it.

i bet nobody is here in 2025 but whatever i really like this song mostly because of the lyrics. i feel they talk about someone who betrayed or took advantage of them yk? basically just describing a horrible person. “teeth in the necks of everyone you know” “i did not believe that you could sink so low” i love listening to this song, especially now after breaking up with an asshole. it’s like a fuck you song :)

this song mainly consist of (well to me it does) that this person in the song that thinks their soo great and they show it in ignorance.... by "teeths in the neck of everyone you know, you can keep on sucking till the blood wont flow,when it starts to hurt it only helps it grow" is a form of someone taking advantage and and hurting others... and "when it starts to hurt it only helps it grow" can probley mean that when it hurts the people of everyone you know( taking advantage and hurting them) means they will only fuel their anger towards you.... its also a song of betrayal someone "sinking soo low" means that they changed into a enemy of some sort

That's actually a really good insight, I never looked at this song in that light. Actually, this is one of the harder NIN songs to read, I think, but it's really good listening! I can't help but think of a succubus every time I hear this song though, the way the person in the song is referred to reminds me of a succubus....just my thought

This song to me is really about self-mutilation. Baby's got a problem Tries so hard to hide Got to keep it on the surface Because everything else is dead on the other side, this verse shows that his feelings are gone and he cannot show them to anyone, by hurting himself on the outside he can show everybody that he's truly hurting.

Another song about those groupie chicks trying to get knocked up to get cash. And maybe he knew the groupie a while back and couldn't believe what she had become. Or maybe it's about vampires? gotta love those dewds.

I think Little Uratia Girl hit home.

I interpret this song as being about Courtney Love, because of two things. Firstly, "teeth in the necks of everyone you know/you can keep on sucking till the blood won't flow" I think he is referring to the fact that Courtney is basically talentless, and has always used people like Kurt Cobain to do her music for her, therefore sucking blood (talent) out of others to keep her going (like a vampire). Secondly when he says "you think that you can beat them I know that you won't you think you have everything but no, you don't" the 'no you don't' I think is referring to the fact that before trent, Courtney would just use people then dump them. With Trent though, he turned it around and dumped her instea, basically saying No You Don't.

Very good song that I can relate to (not because of the Courtney Love part lol)

courtny love, your such a fake lil slut, i cant see why her and trent didnt get along, but then again i think trent is true to his music and she isnt, read all about it in the rolling stones mag, hell i cant remember which issue

this song i think anybody can relate to, because i think we all know somebody that thinks they are hot shit and think they are all that, but really, in reality, they are only as good as everybody else, if not worse.
