The needle on my record player has been wearing thin
This record has been playing since the day you've been with him

No more long rides home
No more of your station
I didn't like it anyway
Remember the time we wrote our names up on the wall?
Remember the time we realized "Thriller" was our favorite song?

Have I waited too long?
Have I found that someone?
Have I waited too long
Too see you?

Have I waited too long?
Have I found that someone?
Have I waited too long
Too see you?

Maybe it's for the best
Maybe it's not for anything
It wouldn't be so bad to take this right from me

No more long rides home
No more of your station
I didn't like it anyway
Remember the time we wrote our names up on the wall?
Remember the time we realized "Thriller" was our favorite song?

Have I waited too long?
Have I found that someone?
Have I waited too long
Too see you?

Have I waited too long?
Have I found that someone?
Have I waited too long
Too see you?

How many times I've tried
It's simple to you, so simple to lie
How many times I've tried
Blatant mistakes of your design

How many times I've tried
It's simple to you, so simple to lie
Blatant mistakes of your design

Have I waited too long?
Have I found that someone?
Have I waited too long
Too see you?

I've had so many chances
Turn my back and I ran away
I've had so many chances
To see you

i think it's about a guy that lost his best friend he was in love with... he never told her and now he's regretting losing her.

I really like this song...its probably my favorite NFG song. I think its about a guy who's best friends with an awesome girl. BUT he didnt realize how awesome she was, or how much he needed her until she got involved in a realtionship.have i waited too long have i found that someone have i waited too long to see you He discovered his romantic feelings for her when it was already too late! Now he feels dumb bc he knows that he missed his chance at something great. Its that old line, you dont realize what you have until you lose it. P.S. Sick and twisted I dont think its about breaking up...like I said he regrets not realizing that he coulda had a realtionship with his friend while she was single

Personally.. It's about the only NFG song I like, and it's one of my favourite songs.. What it means to me is:

This guy who could have had this girl, they spent all their time together. She left him for another guy though. He was there for her, even held her as she cried, and would have told her then that he loved her, if it wasn't for she was already with this new guy.. All he can do is hold onto the memories, all the things they've done and just keeps playing the record over and over it's thier favourite song, because it's all he has left of her... being regretful, because he could have had her, he could have been with the one he loved, but he messed up, and misses her.

    just my opinion

i think its about a guy who's just lost his girlfriend.. and he's just reminissing about all of the good times they had together. but then, so he doesnt seem totally heartbroken...he's saying all of the good things about their break-up...but then at the end he's kinda wondering if he had made the right choices and is wondering if she was the girl for him.

i agree with K8e... to an extent... i don't think he's lost his best friend. i think that he still has the friend, but the friend has a new boyfriend, and he realizes that he lost his chance to be with her. poor guy... i've been there. hell, i am there.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
