I can't believe the complete lack of comments on ash's behalf! do their songs mean nothing to you?! rant over :op as for kung fu? I think this is just a plain FuN song. they wrote it while they were teenagers, and this is reflected in the song; energy, enthusiasm. I love dancing to it when I'm at their gigs, it always makes me smile (cheesy but true!).
i adore em too, but they hardly come to my part of the world, so, sigh they still rock though :)

this rules, makes my hand ache, but its all for the satisfaction of being able to play (and nearly sing along to aswell!) an amazing song. i have loved ash since i was about 11, in 97 or something! just dug out 1977 and have been listening to it all day, best album, and tim wheeler is kinda cute u know?! just reminds me of those teenage obsessions, im guessing kung fu was his.... mine would have to be snowboarding!
I think this is one of Ash's best songs they've ever done. It's a plain old fun song and I love the chorus, it's so cool. I think it's probably about a teenage obsession as well although I never thought about it that way until you said it. Props to the handclaps in the background!

hehe my fingers ache after playing it, stupid bass, but its a great tune and i always dance to it, mind u its normally only heard in my room, was at Reading Festival 2002 tho ^_^
