The lyrics for this song were in major part inspired by the 1984 novel "The Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub. The novel is horror/fantasy and is about a boy named Jack Sawyer who must travel between two worlds to retrieve an object (the Talisman) that will save his dying mother. The Sunlight Home is a evil 'home for wayward boys' in the novel that plays a key role in the plot. Anyway - the lyrics are directly related to this novel. It's really good - I'd recommend it to any King fan or fantasy fiction fan for that matter.
The two guys at the start are Oscar Wilde and Patrick the Brewer, friends of Tim.

can anyone tell me what exactly does it say at the beggining of the song? I'm talking about the talky bit, with the accented gentlemen. and err, WHY? thanks

they talk about why the song is named 'jack names the planets' and not 'jack names the planet nuvenna (spelling?)' because apparently (from the beginning of the song anywayz), it says nuvenna is the center of the universe. mmm ash.
i always thought it was a clip from a foreign pop show called planet nuvenna or something and the accented men are just having a laugh and making a pun. prob wrong but that's how i saw it
i love this song... apparantly Tim wrote it when he was about 14 (may have been younger). It sounds so naive and simple.. but it is a fantastic song all the same
the general consensus on the interweb is that the word in question is "Nufenap." but there isn't any information beyond that; no insight as to where the audio clip came from or who the gentlemen are that are speaking. it's a mystery.

I never really paid attention to the lyrics, but my daughter, who was six at the time, thought this song was about a little boy her age who was naming the planets after his family and fiends. Pretty innocent stuff!
