Jericho: For those who aren’t familiar with the Bible: Jericho is a city in Jordan which was taken by the Israelites in the 14th century Before Christ! Jericho was destroyed by a series of horn blasts from the Israelites, hence the ”Horns of Jericho” expression!
I always thought "horns" was "walls." If I remember correctly, the "walls of Jericho" had some meaning, didn't they? (and I'm not just referring to the WWF's Chris Jericho) The way he says it, it sounds like it could be "horns" or "walls." Did these lyrics come from the CD booklet, or did someone just interpret them themselves?
"In the Old Testament, in Joshua chapter 6, we have an account of the Israelites defeating the city of Jericho when they came into the Promised Land after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. According to the biblical account, after the Israelites marched around the city once a day for six days, on the seventh day they encircled the city seven times. On the seventh time around, the priests blew the trumpets, the people shouted and the walls fell flat." -- (srd.yahoo.com/srst/53632229/the+walls+of+jericho/1/4/T=1025563035/F=ab2f3a8116d0df35cf9fb07beab8f031/*http://www.christiananswers.net/q-abr/abr-a011.html)
