All Over The World Lyrics
Everybody all around the world, gotta tell you what I just heard
There's gonna be a party all over the world
I got a message on the radio, but where it came from I don't really know
And I heard these voices calling all over the world
Chorus:
All over the world, everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
Everybody walkin' down the street, everybody movin' to the beat
They're gonna get hot down in the U.S.A. (New York, Detroit, L.A.)
We're gonna take a trip across the sea, everybody come along with me
We're gonna hit the night down in gay Pareee
chorus
(Instrumental break)
London, Hamburg, Paris, Rome, Rio, Hong Kong, Tokyo
L.A., New York, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, Shard End and
chorus
Everybody all around the world, gotta tell you what I just heard
Everybody walkin' down the street, I know a place where we all can meet
Everybody gonna have a good time, everybody will shine till the daylight
chorus
All over the world, everybody got the word (repeats 3x)
There's gonna be a party all over the world
And I heard these voices calling all over the world
All over the world, everybody got the word
Everybody everywhere is gonna feel tonight
They're gonna get hot down in the U.S.A. (New York, Detroit, L.A.)
We're gonna hit the night down in gay Pareee

for those old enough to remember Vinyl LP "records", side 2 of the Xanadu soundtrack has 5 ELO songs written by Jeff Lynne and performed by the group for the movie.
For me, these songs represent the end of my childhood/early teen years of the 70's, and the start of a new decade.
This album takes me to back a simpler time ... just like the movie tried to do. I see it now and realize the irony.
enjoy ELO!
From Xanadu soundtrack, and no comments. This is a great song in my opinion, and I MEAN GREAT SONG!
ELO f*cking rock. That's all there is to say here.
It is indeed a great song.
Did not know that Shard End was a low rent area that Jeff Lynne grew up in. Thanks for this info from another person!
Jeff Lynne does some incredible things with his voice in this song. And everything else about it is brilliant. I sometimes put this song on repeat and listen to it half a dozen or ten times in a row, putting it in a very small class of songs.
BTW Shard End, ironically included in the list of high-end night life cities is the low-rent part of Birmingham where Jeff grew up.
