Don't Walk Away Lyrics
Why do I say, don't walk away
You'll be the way you were before, when you don't want me anymore
Don't turn around, don't ever leave, a lonely room where empty days
Are gathering to meet me when you're gone, gone
How in the world will I go on
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay (don't walk away)
Chorus:
Don't walk away (don't walk away), don't say goodbye (don't say goodbye)
Don't turn around (don't turn around), don't let it die (don't let it die)
When shadows fall (when shadows fall), when day is done (when day is done)
All through the night (all through the night), all of my life (all of my
life)
Don't walk away
Is it a dream, when will it end
When everything we've ever known has ended and I'm all alone
Where will I go, where will I be, the feelings that I've never shown
Maybe I'll find the answer when you're gone, gone
How in the world will I go on
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay (don't walk away)
chorus repeats 3x
You'll be the way you were before, when you don't want me anymore
Are gathering to meet me when you're gone, gone
How in the world will I go on
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay (don't walk away)
Don't walk away (don't walk away), don't say goodbye (don't say goodbye)
Don't turn around (don't turn around), don't let it die (don't let it die)
When shadows fall (when shadows fall), when day is done (when day is done)
All through the night (all through the night), all of my life (all of my
life)
Don't walk away
When everything we've ever known has ended and I'm all alone
Maybe I'll find the answer when you're gone, gone
How in the world will I go on
(Don't walk away) all you gotta do is stay (don't walk away)

Can't believe no one has said anything about this yet! It's a good song. I believe it's off of Xanadu. It's more of a ballad type thing, which you don't get too often out of ELO but overall it's something different and I love it.
@nobodyschild yes it's amazing

This is my favorite ELO's ballad.
Good song - all the ELO songs from Xanadu were well done, including the title song w. ONJ.
unfortunately the movie didn't fare well, given its release at the end of the disco era. ELO got labeled as a 'disco' band, and they steadily fell off the charts in the early 80's.
Thank goodness Jeff had good sense to leverage his producing of ONJ to produce other great artists like Harrison, McCartney, Petty, Beatles Anthology and of course, whipped up the Traveling Wilbury's just for fun.
Jeff has an incredible talent for producing hits - what he touches turns to gold.
This song defines time and space, it's magical and yet very sad, it's so underated, it's when you feel a strong connection to someone and don't want them to ever leave you, or it can also be losing someone to death itself and the person is learning to morn... Thank you ELO for this amazing song..
