Rock Me Amadeus Lyrics

Ooo rock me Amadeus
Rock me Amadeus...
Rock rock rock rock me Amadeus
Rock me all the time to the top

Er war ein Punker
Und er lebte in der großen Stadt
Es war Wien, war Vienna
Wo er alles tat
Er hatte Schulden denn er trank
Doch ihn liebten alle Frauen
Und jede rief:
Come on and rock me Amadeus

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Er war Superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte Flair
Er war ein Virtuose
War ein Rockidol
Und alles rief:
Come on and rock me Amadeus

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus
Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Come on and rock me Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Es war um 1780
Und es war in Wien
No plastic money anymore
Die Banken gegen ihn
Woher die Schulden kamen
War wohl jedermann bekannt
Er war ein Mann der Frauen
Frauen liebten seinen Punk

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

Come and rock me Amadeus....

Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Ja ja ja
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me
Baby baby do it to me rock me

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus...

I don't think anyone can argue that this the greatest English/German hybrid rock/rap song about an Austrian composer ever written in the '80s.

@pkjun - not a fan of “Break me Beethoven” ?

Brilliant song. Made me look at Mozart in a completely different light, I used to think of him as a young chap who could play the piano well and wrote some of the worlds best music.

The lyrics (when translated into English) are perceiving him as a Radical reformer of music at that time, and was extreemly popular, in the same way that many Punk rockers are nowadays.

Btw, I had the problem with 'Skirt me Amadeus' as well lol

Great song, biiiig thumbs up!

this song fucking rules...Falco may hav tempted fate by singing the line "because he lived so fast he had to die so young" b/c he died at only 40...

I agree wtih it being about how fame killed mozart at a young age (35) sometimes I hate being a music geek, it makes you know dumb stuff like how old mozart was when he died

I suppose you might be right...

Great song. Falco has only one better song: Der Kommissar. Perhaps I'll post the lyrics soon. Austrian rap. Really cool.

Obviously it's about Mozart and the fact that his own fame killed him (and the alcohol, of course).

ROCK = SKIRT in german!

well thats true but in that case ROCK comes from ROCK-Music and therefore if he writes Rock me Amadeus.. he means, as i guess someting like push me,give it too me, s.th like that.

bytheway Falco is s.th like a "hero" in vienna( i am born there)
