this song makes me think of my boyfriend. He's leaving for the airforce sept 3rd and this song says it all.
Well this song can mean so many things. But for me it has always taken a different turn. This use to be mine and my Love Justins song. But Justin commited suciede Jan-22-00. And i remember always listening to this song before he died and thinking about where we would be in our future together, the life we could share and the love we had for one another. And as time passed on and he passed away the song took another turn. I seen it from a totally different aspect. One of a guy who might have died or left someone who they loved. And it being a song they sing for the one they loved and lost. As in a prayer to be with that person. Longing for their love and their touch just one more time. It is about loving and letting go. The song helped me get through Justins death. It was as if somehow and someway he was giving that song to me so i could get through it all!!!

A universal message speaking directly to all of our hearts, but filtered through our own individual souls. I have heard this song so many times and will listen to it many more before my time is over. When I hear it I listen to it on different levels at once. It whispers of deep, soulful, healing love and savoring those special moments that do not last. Such love is difficult to live without when it is lost but we come to a place where we need smile because it happened, and no longer hurt because it is over. This is after the wound has healed. Ultimately, everything is more beautiful because we are doomed. So many people take life for granted until its too late.

i think this song is about a soldier who's temporarily on leave, who finds the girl he loves but then suddenly he gets called off to war with no certainty of ever coming back or coming back alive. i imagine that this is the story of their last last together, where both of them don't want him to go where his being sent to, but it's inevitable so he's saying goodbye with so much pain.

This was mine and my bf's song. we started dating in october i fell in love fast although i tried not to. he soon told hed be goign away to college at the end of the summer.....im a hopeless romantic...he sent me this song and it is a synopsis of our last night together... i donno when i will stop loving him he was my first real love and i will always feel him.

it reminds me of a night i spent with the guy i am falling slowly in love with. it describes it so well. beaautiful songs for all lovers out there
I've always loved this song. I could cry every time I hear it. Ironic that years later, it now describes the situation I am in with my love. My world revolves around waiting to see him again, he lives so far away. What we have is worth the wait though, I 'm happy just knowing that I wasn't wrong my whole life, dreaming that I would find my perfect match.

Oh I was wrong about him, lol. So many years ago now but I burned for him for a long time. It taught me a lot. Now I'm a very happy mother of two with the real love of my life.

I def. think its about what the whole "whats to come" or "what I hoped would come" theory. It seems like hes thinking about someone he really loved, and hes dreaming about all the things that would have happened if they stayed together. And how he wishes she was there now because:

Of course it also could mean hes leaving for whatever the reason and hes just reminiscing about how much he loved her and how she always gave him that "complete" feeling of being in love.
this was probably the most sensual love song I've ever heard...
none of us are going to know the exact scenario, ie; soldier, college student, suicide person. It's about that last night before not seeing someone for an indefinate amount of time. The love is pure and heartfelt.
This song has a new meaning for me. My wife of 40 yrs has passed away. Literally hands to Heaven and pray that I will see her in Heaven someday.
