I was standing by the ocean when I saw your face
I couldn't look at you
I guess you knew it
But I never realized that we were through
And I'm down here all alone with every feeling that I own
You can't take that away
And with every breath we take
And the illusions we create will come to you someday

And I was touched by the hand of God
Never knew it
But of course I was

I never hoped to do the things in this world I wanted to
Because everything I own, it belongs to you
I've never looked at you in a sexual way in my life before
And I've never woken up like this so desperately before

And I was touched by the hand of God
Never knew it
But of course I was
I was touched by the hand of God
Never knew it
But of course I was
Touched by the hand of God
Never knew it
But of course I was
I was touched by the hand of God
Never knew it
But of course I was
I was touched (touched)
I was touched (touched)

This is my favorite song by new order, to me its about being truly in love with someone and being completely devoted to them and not realizing how the relationship got to the point where it needed to end.......but that's just me

This song has some conflicting lyrics but I try to decipher the meaning . Maybe the song is about a person who is close friends with another person of opposite sex . One day he wakes up to the fact that he is desperately in love with his friend and communicates the same to her . But is let down (that we were through) as a result he loses his friend and love of his life

Well, you never really know with Barneys lyrics, but if you know the story, it could easily be about Joy Division's front man Ian Curtis.

A truly breathtakingly brilliant song - one which has provided a soundtrack to my life many times over the years. For me, the song is about realising, out of nowhere, that you are desperately in love with someone who previously featured in your life in a completely different capacity, but the tragedy is the fleeting nature of the relationship, and only realising afterwards what a powerful and unique moment it was. As an aside, I strongly suspect, given the Balearic feel of the song, the mention of the ocean in the first line, and the fact that during this period New Order were writing and recording in Ibiza, that the situation that inspired the song happened to Barney amid the searingly hot, lusty climes of the Mediterranean. The crystaline, celestial, eerie keyboard lines just add to the feeling that he's living with a ghost - the spectre of the lost love that was short-lived but profoundly intense and never far from his thoughts. Truly makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear this song.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
