Mr. Disco Lyrics

How can I ever forget you
You don't know just what I've been through
The holiday we spent together
Lives with me now and forever

I tried but I can't find you
Tell me now what do I do
I tried but I can't find you
Tell me now what do I do

I can't find my piece of mind
Because I need you with me all of the time
I used to think about you night and day
I used to feel what language cannot say
Oh I can't find you
No I can't find my piece of mind without you

Maybe you'd write me a letter
And tell me why I never met you
Our rendezvous just ended in sorrow
Without you there's no tomorrow

I tried but I can't find you
Tell me now what do I do
I tried but I can't find you
Tell me now what do I do

I can't find my piece of mind
Because I need you with me all of the time
I used to think about you night and day
I didn't care what other people would say
Oh I can't find you
No I can't find my piece of mind without you

I can't find my piece of mind
Because I need you with me all of the time
I used to think about you night and day
I used to feel what language cannot say
Oh I can't find you
No I can't find my piece of mind without you

Ibiza, Majorca, and Benidorm too
I've searched all these places but never found you

A lot of the songs on Technique are, lyrically, about Bernard's divorce that he was going through at the time. He has been accused of writing plain and obvious lyrics, but when he delivers lines like "I can't find my piece of mind/Without you," it really hits home.

Excellent track, one of the best from a great LP.

To me, this sounds like the love letter that a touring musician wants to send to a fling he had while on tour, who he sees as something more, but cannot get in contact with because their affair was cut short by the constantly moving schedule. I've written this very letter, and the bond one forms with lovers while on tour is like nothing else. You can't really define the affection you feel towards them. "Ibiza, Majorca, and Benidorm too I've searched all these places but never found you" shows that he's been all over the world, but he cannot remember what city she's from.

I initially thought the translator had spelled peace (of mind) wrong. However, piece works too.

If it is intended as piece rather than peace then that's very clever lyric writing. Top marks.
