Gremmie Out of Control Lyrics

every beach has a clown who thinks he knows it all (hang-ten outta santa fe when surf comes out tomorrow lets go)
and he's always practicing his cowabunga call (cowabunga)
but he'll never scramble when the big waves start to roll
cause there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
the kids always know that gremmie's talk is cheap (ride the hula-han over the pipeline bonsai to the saddle bowl)
oh they just try to ignore this ugly creep (cowabunga)
his board is always full of dings
cause he's always doing stupid things
and there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
gremmie out of control
there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control
there's nothing worse than a gremmie out of control

This song is so fun to listen to, Stone's backing vocals are hysterical...

I like how they placed it right before whale song on the lost dogs compilation, it's pretty fitting being as how both songs have something to do with the ocean

I don't know if it's how high Eddie's voice sounds, or Stone's backing vocals, or just the fact that it's a surf song played by a grunge band, but Gremmie Out of Control always makes me laugh. Maybe it's because I can think of plenty of things worse than a gremmie out of control.

When I first heard this I thought Eddie was doing some cover of a 1960's Saturday Morning Cartoon theme. It's great to see the lyrics and a bit surfer slang explained but it still could stand for a kids cartoon theme especially with the bouncy arrangements.

My Opinion

I have no idea what this song is about, but I just noticed, that on the back of the Lost Dogs CD case, where there is the picture of the wall covered in "lost dog" signs, one of them is named "Gremmie".

LOL, The first time i listened to this song i missheared the lyrics. I though he was singing "Grannie out of control", "there's nothing worst than a grannie out of control", i found that very amusing... then i found out the actual name of the song, and remembered Pearl Jam is not that kind of band, though it would have been funny to see a comedy facet of the band.
