Strangest Tribe Lyrics

It's five below in evidence.
The winded eves and sideways snow.
His eminence has yet to show.

Follow the ageless tide.
Follow the angled light.
Follow the strangest tribe.
I... I... I...

It's 6:00 AM. You're waiting for...
You've had your feast. You're wanting more.

Follow the wayward mile.
Follow the distant high.
Follow the strangest tribe.
I... I... I...

Follow the ancient stripe.
Follow the angels try.
Follow the strangest tribe.
I... I... I...

How can someone not comment on this song??? This song is amazing!! I like the haunting creepy sound to it. I have no idea what it's about though but for some reason it makes me picture a tribe of Eskimos.

around a campfire, night on the beach, waves, friends and a guitar;

I have a different take on this: The theme is sarcastically religious. This is a condemnation of the materialistic and commercial view of what was once a holy day. His eminence is Christ, buried by the current views of Christmas, or "sideways" snow (suggesting it is coming from an odd or inappropriate place). Waiting for 6 am is waiting for a chance to open presents. Having the feast and wanting more is simply a statement of gluttony. In short, Christians of the western heritage are the strangest tribe, having replaced a faith in a religion with a celebration of excess and commercialization

It almost seems like this song has a religious bent to it. It was on a Fan club Christmas single a while back, and it seems to be about how people always try to be nicer and more friendly during the holidays, hence "Follow the angels try"

Definitely a religious theme. I think this was the one Stone wrote at (and about) Christmas. First 2 lines- It's cold. 3rd line- Christmas Eve, before Jesus was born. 2nd verse- Memories of childhood Christmas mornings. The feast (Christmas dinner) was on Christmas Eve, but they care more about presents. Chorus- Strangest tribe= the human race and their Christmas traditions and beliefs.

This song is so beautiful.

This sounds very "Stairway To Heaven" ish. If Stone would have broke into a solo and a drum vamp.

The song to me basically means How mankind and how were acient, acient stripe, ageless tides, etc means how we as mankind are the weirdest tribe to understand, we rape our children, we steal our youths innocence, we kill our own, we judge our own, we are racist to our own, we do so much, that is strange
