Dandelion Lyrics
Prince or pauper, beggar man or thane
Play the game with every flower you bring
(Chorus)
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
One o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock chimes
Dandelions don't care about the time
(Chorus)
Tho' you're older now its just the same
You can play this dandelion game
When you're finished with your childlike prayers
Well, you know you should wear it
Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailors lives
Rich man, poor man, beautiful, daughters wives
(Chorus)
Little girls, and boys come out to play
Bring your dandelions to blow away
(Chorus)
Play the game with every flower you bring
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
Dandelions don't care about the time
You can play this dandelion game
When you're finished with your childlike prayers
Well, you know you should wear it
Rich man, poor man, beautiful, daughters wives
Bring your dandelions to blow away

oh come on no comments this is what psychadelia was all about the Stones are truly a bunch of freaking geniues! rock on people!!!
Dandelion is about the game of fate in love, and the future chance will bring dependent upon the choice one makes. It is in the sorrow of lost love, set in the analogy of the child's game played with dentes-de-liones telling one's fortune. It contains the recognition that love holds the fate of one's soul, but depends upon fortune.Teeth of the lion is what the name of the flower means, and the pathos of the song is a compensatory madness of a childishness in the shipwreak of young love, the very subject of Colors (She's a Rainbow) and Ruby Tuesday, if I had to guess.
Dandelion—a nickname her dad had for her tells no lies and then again … but tell me if she laughs or cries today. Cries? Oh man … Now what happened?
We all like it better when she laughs … And everyone can play the dandelion game—so blow away, little dandelion …
honest to god thought this was a popular stones song... guess not ??
I was just reading that Dandelion was one of Keith Richard's kids he had with Anita P. They were unable to take care of this baby, so the child was raised by Keith's mom. I think the lyrics might be about Keith's child Dandelion, but after looking up and reading the lyrics, it's anybody's guess what it might mean.
I thought Dandelion might be about marijuana. In many places dandelions are considered weeds - weed is slang for pot.
When smoking pot, you blow away the smoke - blow away dandelion.
Dandelion will make you wise - or at least that's what many people think while under the influence.
One o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock chimes Dandelions don't care about the time - when you smoke pot, you often lose track of time.
Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailors lives Rich man, poor man, beautiful, daughters wives - pot is egalitarian - members of all classes smoke it.
@thepipe yours is very much my take on the song. I’ll add that the blowing seeds float happily through the air, childlike, without a care. Musically, the song ends with the seeds floating away, with the high happy voices, cascading notes like seeds leaving one by one and drums that tumble and play off beat, suggesting a dissolving. All dissolves into bliss.

This song could be about the ritualistic murder of children
