Too High Lyrics
I can see by the light of a broken sky
That you're on the mend
The photograph of your broken hearted eyes
Will fade and bend
I can see your face
A black and white collage of a chemical emotion.
A picture of a thousand lonely nights
You'll no longer spend.
I can tell you're feeling better now
You're too high to come down.
I can see by the light of a floating sky
That's cold and gret
Underneath a heavenly sillhoutte
You float away
I could tie you down
Keep you down to earth like a cut and bleeding angel
Tie you down to earth like a monument
Made of clay
But you're fading into black like a passing stranger
Walking on a fallen sky
Just a memory in your mind's wandering eye
I can tell you're feeling better now
In a black and white photo sky
Love in the camera's eye
Love comes down when I
When I say to myself
When I say to myself
I can tell you're feeling better now
That you're on the mend
The photograph of your broken hearted eyes
Will fade and bend
I can see your face
A black and white collage of a chemical emotion.
A picture of a thousand lonely nights
You'll no longer spend.
You're too high to come down.
That's cold and gret
Underneath a heavenly sillhoutte
You float away
I could tie you down
Keep you down to earth like a cut and bleeding angel
Tie you down to earth like a monument
Made of clay
But you're fading into black like a passing stranger
Walking on a fallen sky
Just a memory in your mind's wandering eye
I can tell you're feeling better now
Love in the camera's eye
Love comes down when I
When I say to myself
When I say to myself
I can tell you're feeling better now

This song rocks my socks off
ditto
I'm not too sure, but in the first verse, it sounds as though he's looking at a photograph of someone that was just really sad, sick maybe. "A black and white collage of a chemical emotion." In the second verse, it sounds as though the person in the photo has passed away. "I could tie you down Keep you down to earth like a cut and bleeding angel"...perhaps meaning that, if this person were to stay on earth, and stay alive, it would harm them more than anything. So when he says, " I can tell you're feeling better now." Maybe he's referring to the fact that now that they've passed away, they're no longer sad, or no longer in pain. Anyway, I love Jump, Little Children!

As I understand it, the songs on "vertigo" are primarily about jay Clifford falling in love with his wife and the death of his grandfather. It's my belief this is a grandfather song. This whole album is beautiful. Definitely jump's best.
