It's about taking a risk calmly and staying hopeful for a comeback even after the gamble doesn't pay off. I can't decide if the character's meant to be a good example or not (I was with her until she decided the way out of a hole was to dig deeper!)
It's about finding yourself. You're digging into your character only to find that "Truth of Soul" is right--you're bottomless. You're infinite and indefinite and therefore, the world doesn't come as an "easy fit". It's frightening, but you continue to discover yourself as you dig.
Well... she seems a bit shallow to me. She jumps with this idea in her head that she is complicated, bottomless, but she still ends up back on the ground. (Even refuses to admit her mistake! "high above is the place from which I'd like to think I FELL")
Then instead of saying, "Hey, maybe I'm not as deep as I thought, I should get out of here" she keeps digging because she desperately hopes to uncover another layer of herself. Even worse, she waits for some divine power to come save her instead of attempting to get out on her own.
