I originally thought he said "and I loved you..." not "left you" which I actually like better and it totally fits in with the idea that it's about a relationship. However, after realizing it's "left you" I'm tending to think that it's more about a part of himself that he's speaking to.

To me this is him saying that he tries to use laughter/humor to escape the things that truly bother him or that he's insecure about.

This part seems more cryptic and probably has some significant personal meaning, like an inside joke only this isn't a joke. The evidence is whatever he uses to justify to himself that he's ok or sane. The seven ways to keep his secrets tied may be refering to the seven deadly sins, especially with the hindsight knowledge that he wrote a book called that. Perhaps what he's hiding is what HE considers to be the true seven deadly sins. He's talking about what he wrote about in his book. The rest seems either self-explanatory or unknown to me, but that's what I gather from it.

Yeah, it's great to hear something like this. Stone Sour is awsome. I'm still going to have to say that so far Bother is my favorite. I hope in future albums, Corey (I cannot remember his last name, and i'm not even sure this is his first name even.) will make 'quiet' music like Bother, because he has an awsome voice and he just knows how to sing. And yell while singing.

i wish people would write there opinion on the meaning but i agree its a good song very good corey taylor has an amazing voice, i think the meaning of this song is about being brought into this world and how it was never his decision i think the first verse u can utilise that his mother is holding him inn her arms and just staring at him and the part "and you left me and i left you" is saying they have grown apart and are blaming each other for it? thats my thoughts its probably wrong your opinion????????

That's actually a pretty good anology of this song.. to me this song is about a relationship. I was in one a while back and this song was like the only thing I'd listen to. Everything about is just encompassed my thoughts and feelings about the situation I was in. It's far to difficult to explain but if anyone has ever been in a relationship with someone and nothing is going right and you want out but want to stay all at the same time then you'd know what I'm talking about. This song will always be one of my favs by Stone Sour.
