shut up, the storys old. this song fucking rocks. first of all, its about a dream. secondly, its not literally advocating this type of action. if anything, its disapproving of it, since he bluntly states that the kid is dead. its not pathetic, its the world. the world is a violent, fucked-up place. why should music not represent that? anything that doesn't is explicitly escapist in nature, which isn't always a bad thing. but this dream could be a reality in anyplce in the world today. so before you bash the lyrics, turn off FOX and figure out whats goin on in the world around you, cuz i guarantee this type of shit happens a lot.

the lyrics aren't literal, we ALL should kno that. but i think what hes trying 2 say is that he is really mad at someone he loves, but he knos no matter what he wants to do or thinks about doing, he could never do them b/c he is so deeply in love. its sort of like when ur mad at say ur sister or someone and you just want 2 kill them and never see them again! but u kno u never could b/c u love them no matter what its about an unconditional love

awesome song!!! the new songs are cool too but i like the old senses fail better. everything before let it enfold you was the best. still searching was good but not all that great. and now life is a waiting room really really good. but still their old shit was waaaay better, but thats just my opinion. =]

To me the guy is in a struggle or conflict with himself over a girl. His dreams of insanity make it clear that he is losing his mind. I think he doesn't exactly know what to do with the issue he's facing. He is extremely lost and insecure. Think about 'You Found Me' by The Fray. The first line in that song says that the guy "found God". In 'Free Fall Without a Parachute', the guy is "six feet beneath the Earth." Maybe he's lost in that he doesn't see God in his life. I think that as far as the “feelings” in both songs are concerned, one is mainly of relief and appreciation while the other is mainly of desperation since the guy doesn't truly know what he wants to do and is desperate for answers–in his dreams he is a murderer, but in reality, who is he and what is he doing? Nurturing crude thoughts while choosing to stay in a hopeless relationship so as not to hurt anyone's feelings?

Well let's look at the title, 'Free Fall Without a Parachute.' That's sheer suicide. Because it's all in his head, he's killing himself on the inside. We can tell he's experiencing pain. Maybe that five-year old he shot was himself, a reflection of who he used to be, innocent and naive.  Remember dreams are roughly what we imagine in our heads. So sum it all together and we can assume the song is saying that there is an answer somewhere, we just have to find someone who has it and talk to them. Or we could just stop beating around the bush, let go and move on with our lives...You know, stop wasting time.

this is most def my favorite song on the ep..it's so amazing! senses fail rocks!!

Oh man! I can't believe no one's commenting on this song! This song rocks and added female vocalist enhances the melodic tune of the song. Senses Fail owns! btw does anyone know who the girl is?

This is a bad ass song. It's basically pissed off thoughts in song form, just not all pretty so the public won't boycott them. FUCK the public. Piss everyone off. But only for the love of music. :D

The girl in the song is Catie Friel, the coolest girl with a kik ass voice. fuk.
