Sunshine On A Rainy Day Lyrics
[SPONSOR]
I see you in the darkness, I see you in the light
I see your eyes shining in through the night
Make me feel, make me feel like I belong
Don't leave me, don't leave me here all alone
Cast your eyes like summer skies
Bluer than the ocean, clearer than the sky
Yeah
* Sunshine on a rainy day
Makes my soul, makes my soul, trip, trip, trip away
[Repeat *]
You touch me with your spirit, you touch me with your heart
You touch me in the darkness, I feel it start
Make me feel, make me feel, so unreal, so unreal
Like a wind in the desert, like a moon on the sea
Yeah
[Repeat * , * , *]
Sunshine, sunshine
Sunshine, sunshine
Sunshine, sunshine
Sunshine, sunshine ... till fade
I see you in the darkness, I see you in the light
I see your eyes shining in through the night
Don't leave me, don't leave me here all alone
Bluer than the ocean, clearer than the sky
Yeah
Makes my soul, makes my soul, trip, trip, trip away
You touch me in the darkness, I feel it start
Like a wind in the desert, like a moon on the sea
Yeah
Sunshine, sunshine
Sunshine, sunshine
Sunshine, sunshine ... till fade

what a shit song this is - they used to play this on the automated playlist at work and i quit my job almost entirely because of this shit music. anyway, i think this was christine anu trying to catch onto the pseudo-new-age vibe that was going 'round in the late 1990s thanks to Madonna and William Orbit, maybe Delerium to a lesser extent. the lyrics are cheap, meaningless and really thoughtless - it's like one of anu's songwriters sat down for five minutes, put this crap together and said "yeah, that sounds spiritual enough" - the next day they recorded it and I puked.
One of my favourite songs of all time. Deceptively simple - it offers the most amazing scope to a soaring female voice like Anu's.
Very difficult to write something like this. The temptation is to build it up instead of strip it all away. Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone is the only other "I feel' song that, for me, has the same emotive power, but Dylan can build up anything he wants and I'm sucked in. This song is content to be simple and trippy and, it just tears me up every time.
