This is an amazing song! Its harder on their first album (No Need, as Strangers With CAndy) but on the Lifer album its acoustic (its the hidden track, #13 at 4:20). You can really hear the emotion in Nick's voice when he sings it... its amazing!
I've been a fan of Strangers With Candy/Lifer/MyDownfall for about 4 years now. It seems like every time they get a new band name, the music gets better. I'm glad they always kept Nick as the lead man, though. No one else can come close to the emotions you feel inside when he sings. I haven't come across another artist that can make me feel what they're feeling. Anyways, to me, this song is about loving someone, yet hating them at the same time. "how can I how can I look at you when I feel this way now how can I how can I look at you when I'm pissed off somehow" means that he still loves her, even though she's put him through so much crap. I think it means that no matter what she does, she'll never be able to forget about him.
ur far off man. its about this dude Jerry "Booper" Owens that died of a heroin overdose. he was a good friend of Nicks at the time. and thats why it says "how can I, how can I, look at you when i feel this way now. how can I how can I, look at you when im pissed off somehow." because now he cant go to his friend to talk to or anything like that. basically then its about losing a close friend, and no longer having them to run to when things are down and out.
