Lost in a dream
Nothing is what it seems
Searching my head
For the words that you said
Tears filled my eyes
As we said our last goodbyes
This sad scene replays
Of you walking away
My body aches from mistakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
Time and again
She repeats let's be friends
I smile and say yes
Another truth bends,
I must confess
I try to let go, but I know
We'll never end 'til we're dust
We lied to each other again
But I wish I could trust
My body aches of mistakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
God help me please, on my knees
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
How could this be happening to me
I'm lying when I say, "Trust me"
I can't believe this is true
Trust hurts
Why does trust equal suffering
Absolutely nothing we trust

ladies, this is why you dont date songwriters. if you break up with them, they write a song... or a whole album about it. and 90% of the listeners take his side and hate you. ha.

I have listened to this song countless times. It shows an aching wound of a relationship. But more so, I feel that the focus is more on the speaker. He questions everything one would think of themselves, and accepts the shortcomings of both himself and his partner, but does not seem to offer change or consolation. It dwells on the lack of control in the situation, and has that hint of anger that you have all come to love and expect from Megadeth. This is a true masterpiece.

This song is about a bad relationship, hands down. it's about how this girl screws him over and how he just goes along with the break up, even tho he still "loves" her.

My Gawd, that intro is something else!! I'm fascinated by that beginning guitar part....I wish someone would loop the intro into 5 minutes...I would play it over and over.someone if you can do this! please do it!

i love the song...but without that itro, it would just be mildly interesting....i wish mustaine would redo this....maybe into a non-relationship song....just another version....

The intro is great and the whole song really rocks, a rather calm song that you wouldn't expect from Megadeth. But hey, it really sounds genuine

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
