Headshrinker Lyrics
I know a girl who's lost and lonely
Sits by the phone on her own
But the phone don't ring
And the birds don't sing in her tree
She lost herself in a haze of pity
And doesn't know where to run
Needs a headshrinker now
And I think its time we had some fun
Lost in a fog
Up a tree like a dog
And I'm out of here
I got no name
And I feel no shame
And I got no fear
And I bow down
To the tears of a clown
Whatever's going down
Is coming around
I hope you don't regret today
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
Sits by the phone on her own
But the phone don't ring
And the birds don't sing in her tree
She lost herself in a haze of pity
And doesn't know where to run
Needs a headshrinker now
And I think its time we had some fun
Up a tree like a dog
And I'm out of here
I got no name
And I feel no shame
And I got no fear
And I bow down
To the tears of a clown
Whatever's going down
Is coming around
I hope you don't regret today
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives
For the rest of your lives

tune
I think the lyric is 'I've been treated like a dog', not 'Up in a tree like a dog'. Thats just weird. When was the last time you saw a dog in a tree.
As Bo says, tune. What else is there to say.
Rockin'! I like the line "I hope you don't regret today / For the rest of your lives".
this is such a fun song! i love it!
You can definitely hear their punk influence in this song. This is so fuckin rockin' it's ridiculous.
He's about to do something completely immoral but he doesn't care because hes on coke
its about a girl who wouldn't leave Liam alone when he was younger after Liam dumped her. Noel wrote it about that.
and please change the 'up in a tree like a dog' to 'Ive been treated like a dog'!!!
First of all oasis is the 3rd greatest band of all time behind the Beatles and the stones. I love the fact that they "borrow" so much from others. But they take a little 2 much here. In the 1st 20 seconds you can hear the Faces "Stay with me", the Who "Who are you" and Elton John "Saturday night's Alright for fighting"

What's wrong with taking bits and pieces from three great songs and using them to create a 4th? It seems quite bright to me. If Oasis had used the tactic regularly I would see a problem with it, but one song. Very clever of the guys. As for the song, I believe it's about a sad and lonely girl (which I've never been, thankfully) who feels sorry for herself as she sits around giving advice to others who apparently need it less than she does. Then again, it could be a song sung by someone who refuses to accept his/her...

Then again, it could be a song sung by someone who refuses to accept his/her own lousy situation and get off her ass and do something about it instead of making boring, tiring excuses year after year after year after year. So much for intellectual brilliance...the oxyMORON.
