These Days Lyrics
Hey baby, is that you
Wow, your hair got so long
Yeah, yeah I love it, I really do
“Norma Jean,” ain’t that the song we’d sing
In the car driving downtown
Top down, making the rounds
Checking out the bands on Doheny Avenue
Yeah, life throws you curves
But you learned to swerve
Me, I swung and I missed
And the next thing you know, I’m reminiscing
Dreaming old dreams
Wishing old wishes
Like you would be back again
Chorus
I wake up in teardrops that fall down like rain
I put on that old song we danced to and then
I head off to my job, guess not much has changed
Punch the clock, head for home, check the phone just in case
Go to bed, dream of you
That’s what I’m doing these days
Yeah, that’s what I’m doing
Someone told me after college
You ran off to Vegas
You married a rodeo cowboy
Wow, that ain’t the girl I knew
Me, I’ve been a few places
Mostly here and there once or twice
Still sorting out life but I’m doing alright
Yeah, it’s good to see you too
Well hey girl you’re late
And those planes, they don’t wait
But if you ever come back around
This sleepy old town
Promise me you’ll stop in
To see an old friend
And until then
(Repeat Chorus Twice)
I wake up in teardrops that fall down like rain
I put on that old song we danced to and then
I wake up in teardrops that fall down like rain
I put on that old song we danced to and then
I wake up in teardrops that fall down like rain
I put on that old song we danced to and then

life throws you curves, but you learned to swerve
great line
I wasn't a big fan of Rascal Flatts until I heard this unbelievable song. It has so much meaning, and it made me feel so sad when I first heard it because my boyfriend and I had just broken up. Very beautiful song.
"Go to bed, dream of you, that's what I'm doin' these days"
That has to be the best line in the song.
doghill avenue? um k?
i love this group, my best guy friend is in this situation with an ex of his and they r good friends, and it's hard for him to see her everyday so i know what this guy means. it's great.
i am sitting here listening to this song, and i cannot believe how life is going...nothing really to do with the message in this song, but it is so beautiful...life is amazing! God is so faithful...God Bless...love in Christ!!!
Sounds like someone just had some sex....
HA HA HA HA HA!! Maybe.
HA HA HA HA HA!! Maybe.
its not doghill ave. i dont know who the weirdo is that put that in there but it sure as hell isn't doghill. it's Doheeney Avenue.
This song is so awesome! I totally adore Rascal Flatts, and I think that this song is symbolizing something that we all have been through. We all go through a period of wondering what ever happened to somebody we once dated or whatever. Kudos to Rascal Flatts on good work done!
This is such a cute song about somebody from your past that you are constantly dreaming and thinking about.....i think we all have experienced that sort of thing at one time or another
...okay? nice comment?
