Permanent Daylight Lyrics
The easiest way to sleep at night
is to carry on believing
that I don’t exist.
The easiest way to sell your soul
is to carry on believing
that we don’t exist.
It must be hard,
hard,
With your head on backwards.
is to carry on believing
that I don’t exist.
The easiest way to sell your soul
is to carry on believing
that we don’t exist.
It must be hard,
hard,
With your head on backwards.

These lyrics are totally wrong. here they are:
The easiest way to sleep at night Is to carry on believing that I don't exist
The easiest way to sell your soul is to carry on believing that we don't exist
It must be hard, hard With your head on backwards
hopefully that helps. I'm looking for insight as to who the song is talking to, and who the 'I/we' are in the song.
@DMoneys36 These lyrics sound right to me when I listen closely. Have you sent in a revision to the original poster of the lyrics? Would be nice to see them changed on this site.

I love this song. Their shortest, eh? Just seems like a pissed off song about being stuck being stupid. Yes, Genius.
crazy you said that^^^ just listening to this, i was thinking it sounded a lot like sonic youth. its an amazing song off of an amazing EP
They played this on september 11th 2001 in Berlin, and dedicated it to the Bush administration. good god I love this band.
GENIUS.
Amen, Amen. Genius is right. This song sends chills down my spine just thinking of it.
The easiest way to live is to believe that you don't exist, and that nothing you do matters. Also, it's the easiest way to decieve yourself. Basically, the people who think this way are seen by others living their life like they had their heads on backwards.
i think the songs on my iron lung cd are underrated. this song is genius i agree. i think its about not being a victim of your own thoughts. don't try and think about existence and your life etc and you'll be able to sleep
I remember reading that this song was intended as a tribute to Sonic Youth, which figures.
This song reminds me of Everlong by Foo Fighters. I see the Sonic Youth influence.
