My Minds Sedate Lyrics

i trust the police and the government
suck down corporate sentiment
home for dinner, watch tv
caught in the middle of a shopping spree

my minds sedate

home entertainment and a boring car
(my minds sedate)
if i try to run, i wouldnt get that far
(my minds sedate)
extract the venom, spit it over the shoulder
(my minds sedate)
i'm a victim of a 'sally make-over'

my minds sedate

you cant run away
if you dont have a brain
deal with it

it's alright...is it?

i trust the police and the government
suck down corporate sentiment
home for dinner, watch tv
caught in the middle of a shopping spree

my minds sedate

you cant run away
if you dont have a brain
deal with it

you gotta deal with this
my minds sedate

i think this is a fairly political song, talking about the way the government and the police ect.. can sedate the way people live their lives. there is a feeling of a fairly routined life in the lyrics, home for dinner every nite, then watches tv. boring car. and the only way to escape this life is to you cant run away realize you are being pushed around and to deal with it.

I think that this song is about the way that life becomes so routine that it's bland and pointless. The boys of Shihad obviously don't like this. People "trust the police and the government" just because they are some form of authority, without paying any attention to what else is going on with them. Corporate sentiment seems to take over and people will also trust big corporations. These people lead their boring lives with their boring beliefs, boring cars, boring homes, and never actually live.

Its about how we have become sedated by our affluence and give up a lot of our rights and control to government

Exactly Dressed2Depress, much like how we allowed our government to pass the Anti-smacking bill when majority opinion said they didn't want it. But we just let it happen... These coming elections are going to be a total mess, because no one wants either head party really...

Its not so much about a police state, its more about letting it happen by letting your "mind be sedate". Its about accepting the things society deems valuble and not oging after what you personally deem valuble
