This is my favorite song off "white knuckle substance." Great band, they aren't getting the credit that they deserve.

wow .. what can i say?? once again the chorus kicks a** anybody else see the repetative mentionings of religion????? hrm.. i do .. and by that i mean in the whole cd? and if u dont have the cd go get it.. NOW!!

i dunno why, but for some reason the lines "cause everybody knows the more we nurture our perversions, the more human we become" and "they finally caught the killer, they found his skin beneath her nails" makes me think of a rape victim who was either murdered, or killed herself right after the rape, because the pain was too much to bare or whatever..and they hadn't found the killer yet, and the song is through the perspective of a friend/lover of the victim..who has lost faith because of the terrible event, and the line "we swore a solemn oath to never disobey, then he took our wives and kids away" is like, they swore not to disobey god, and placed their faith in them..and then he took what meant the most away from them..yeah but i could be wrong..and, for some reason i think when it says "sing children, sing it to the sun," i think it would also have it fit as "sing it to the son," as in jesus..but then again that's my weird view of the song, just thought i'd share it..

I think it's about a cult, because well, suicide party is the name of the song for one. Then it says "your comet catcher conned you, baby", I think it's talking about the cult leader. Then, "We swore a solemn oath, to never disobey. But then he took our wives and kids away", I think that supports my logic because oftentimes cult members are forced to isolate themselves from their families. There are other reasons, too, but these are the main ones.

I agree with Yeagerchicky. I was thinking about the lyrics to the song last night, and I came to the same conclusion as Yeagerchicky.

I have definately noticed the Anti-God theme throughout Between the Never and the Now. i figured that "comet catcher" was a reference to someone like God or just a higher authority figure, like a president or hey, maybe it was even a scientist that talked some people out of their religion into believing in science, and then it turns out he's a crackpot.

But yeah, a cult would definately make sense. the title "Suicide Party" seems obvious now.

in fact, in particular, this song might be about the Heaven's Gate cult.
