You were the very first one
You were the first one

you are the very first one making out all over me
you set my nervous hands on
so take me more,
you'll take me

you were the first one
and I'd like to say
you were the first one
and I'd like you to stay

when I met your stunning love
your lucid eyes came to life
come on down to '94
you tell me more and I'll tell you

you were the first one
and I'd like to say
you were the first one
and I would like to say

take us down
down on the floor
it's piping hot
so smooth and warm
tell and show
whose bread is whose
I will show
and I will be like

you were the first one
and I'd like to say
you were the first one
and I'd like you to stay

you were the first one
and I'd like to say
you were the first one
please please please go away

you were the first one
I love you someday
you will be the last one
please come back someday

you were the very first one
you were the first that I ever did

all the time
and all the day
into your eyes
deeper the day
perfect teeth
in '94
kiss me more and I will kiss you

you were the first one
and I'd like to say
you were the first one
and I'd like you to stay

you were the first one
I love you someday
you will be the last one
please comeback someday

number one
the very first one

General CommentThis song is great... The music is just so... different. I have a really crappy quality version of the song, but I enjoy it.

General CommentYou know, it's a goddamn shame that the only thing this incredible and influential DC indie pop band is remembered for amongst people under the age of 23 is the fact that that retarded fucking website was named after this song.

    Unrest deserves better.

General CommentI always thought it was "Come on now, do not be coy," not "Come on now to my depot." But I haven't heard the song in years. I just sing it in the shower.

General Commentgreat song. listening to the vox solo'd on a live recording right now and these lyrics are either very far off the mark (no pun) or mark sang them differently that night. it was 104 degrees in philly that day and insufferably hot in the club.
