There She Goes Lyrics
there she goes
there she goes again
racing thru' my brain
and i just can't contain
this feelin' that remains
there she blows
there she blows again
pulsing thru' my vein
and i just can't contain
this feelin' that remains
there she goes, there she goes again
she calls my name, pulls my train
no-one else could heal my pain
and i just can't contain
this feelin' that remains
there she goes
there she goes again
chasing down my lane
and i just can't contain
this feelin' that remains
there she goes again
racing thru' my brain
this feelin' that remains
there she blows again
pulsing thru' my vein
this feelin' that remains
she calls my name, pulls my train
no-one else could heal my pain
this feelin' that remains
there she goes again
chasing down my lane
this feelin' that remains

it's a song with a double meaning, therefore there is no "real meaning," because there are TWO. one being drugs, one being a girl, it doesn't matter which you choose, neither one is wrong because that's how it was written. you just take it how you will. personally, i always thought it was about a girl, so no, it's not "obviously about heroin." he says nothing about needles or being high, he just uses words that could also go with a love song, so it's NOT obvious, and i think that's how it's supposed to be.
but it does say pulsing thru my vein
but it does say pulsing thru my vein
A lot of people might say this is about a girl, or about drugs or about whatever. But I just like to think of it as one of the songs that was big when I was a kid. Ace track.
This song is about heroin addiction, "there she blows... pulsing through my veins... calls my name... no one else can heal my pain... chasing down my lane" its a wee bit obvious if you look at it! Lee Mavers may have said its not, but thats not what he said at first, and seeing as hes lived for the last decade off the royalties he gets for the song i wouldnt be surprised if he tries to clean it up a bit in retrospect! Absolutely brilliant song, even if it was written about heroin, as with all art its open to personal interpretation, if you want to read it as one of the most beautiful love songs ever written then thats what you do
The "pulsing through my vein" line is the only one I can see remotely related to drug use. Personally I prefer the more innocent take on the song, but that's just me. The love song take is far more universal. Everybody has somebody that makes their heart race. Often times it might be a friend who you can't admit those feelings to.
@ratanx Actually, there are more references such as "racing through my brain" and "no one else could heal my pain" are pretty obvious.

I like to see the much more innocent meaning of seeing a girl he likes, not about a serious heroin addiction. Call me naive or ignorant, but it fits the innocent and simple feeling of the song better.
I like this song, cause you don't have to think too much to understand the meaning (regardless of whether you choose to believe it is about drugs, or a girl, which it's perfectly plausible that it could mean either). I think it's an uplifting song that is great to sing along to.
I don't think this is about drugs I think this about a guy who loved a girl but eventually he stopped loving or having a crush on her. But he keeps on seeing her or thinking about her and the part of him thats stills loves her is getting bigger.
there she goes there she goes again racing thru' my brain
and i just can't contain this feelin' that remains
I dpn't think this is about drugs because if he was taking the drugs he would be blowing her not him blowing him (that sounded very wrong).
If it's not about drugs, what is it's true meaning?
@Missykiwiz I think it may mean both. I think the first meaning is lost love from younger years. Either a long lost crush or an ex who keeps racing through his mind and making his heart skip beats.\r\n\r\nSecond meaning is the heroine he uses to stop thinking about her.

hell i didnt even know it was about drugs. i just thought it was about a girl he couldnt get out of his head
There have been rumours about Mavers heroin addiction for ages. Either way, its a genius song...taken as a sweet love song(u hear this everywhere from nappy to holiday commericials)or a dark take on heroin.
Mavers would be stupid to admit the real meaning of this song seeing the royalties he must get off this track and the fact that it's so damn obvious.
